Turkey represents a cultural mixture, stretching across the Anatolian peninsula in Western Asia and Thrace in the Balkans. Covering different elements of Turkey Like : ANTALYA, a Turkish resort city with a yacht-filled Old Harbor and beaches flanked by large hotels. It's a gateway to Turkey's southern Mediterranean region, known as the Turquoise Coast for its blue waters ; NIDGE, a city and the capital of Niğde province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, it is small with plenty of green space and gardens around the houses. Its people generally tend to be religious and conservative ; CAPPADOCIA, a semi-arid region in central Turkey, is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere ; SAFRANBOLU, a town in the Black Sea region of northern Turkey, once a stop on the trade route between Europe and the Orient. Its Ottoman architecture includes the old Çarşı district, with hundreds of preserved, red-roofed Ottoman houses on cobblestone streets; ISTANBUL, a major city in Turkey that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. The iconic Byzantine Hagia Sophia features a soaring 6th-century dome and rare Christian mosaics.
